Here are a few tips and tricks to help you get the most enjoyment out of your candle.
Soy wax has a “memory”, meaning it will melt only to the edge of where it was extinguished the last time it was burned. We recommend the first time you light your candle, to burn it for 1 to 3 hours, until the entire top is liquid wax – all the way to the edges of the glass. That way, the candle will burn cleanly down the sides of the glass instead of tunneling down the middle. Failure to do this will often cause “tunneling” which will limit the life of your new soy candle.
Please do not burn your candle for more than 4 hours at a time.
We recommend trimming your wick before every lighting. The wick only needs to be approximately ¼” / 6mm in length, keeping it this length will avoid mushrooming which can result in unnecessary soot. This also controls the size of the flame allowing you to get the most time out of your candle.
Different scents will have various levels of intensity and will perform differently due to how they are made or the size of the room they are being used in. Some are designed to fill the room very quickly; others are more subtle.
